"Larry" Whitney in 
Pawnee City, Nebraska)

Larry developed his trademark Southern accent after listening to
his college roommates.A debut comedy album, Law and Disorder,
was released in 1995. His father, a Christian minister and a guitarist,
raised him on a pig farm. The former radio personality, despite his
stage name, has never worked for a cable company.

"Sonny" Bono (February 16, 1935 – January 5, 1998)

Sonny Bone was a recording artist, record producer, and actor who formed half
of the pop duo Sonny and Cher and also had a second career as a politician. He
was the 16th Mayor of Palm Springs from 1988 to 1992 and a Member of the US
House of Representatives from California’s 44th district from 1995 until his death. 

The CBS variety program The Sonny and Cher Show ran from 1971 to 1974 and
he also starred in the 1982 film Airplane II: The Sequel. In the early 1060s Sonny 
was a promotion man, percussionist and ‘’gofer” for record producer Phil Spector.

BURT REYNOLDS IS 80 TODAY


Burton Leon "Burt" Reynolds was born in Lansing, Michigan.

Reynolds starred in movies such as Smokey and the Bandit (1977), and The
Cannonball Run
(1981). The film that made Burt Reynolds a star was the 1972
thriller Deliverance. He starred in many television series and played Quint Asper,
the blacksmith in CBS‘s Gunsmoke for three seasons beginning in 1962.

ACTRESS TINA LOUISE IS 82 TODAY


Tina Louise (born Tina Blacke in  New york City)

Tina Louise played Ginger in the CBS sitcom Gilligan’s Island
(1964-1967). Her role in the 1958 film God’s Little Acre earned
her a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year. She began
studying acting, singing and dancing at the age of seventeen.

CHILD STAR DIES AT 90


Tommy Kelly (April 6, 1925 – January 26, 2016)

(AP) – Tommy Kelly, who played the titular boy hero in
the 1938 movie "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," has
died. His son announced Tuesday that Kelly suffered
congestive heart failure on Jan. 25 in Greensboro, N.C.

Along with the adaptation of the Mark Twain novel for
which he’s best known, Kelly also appeared in "Gone
With the Wind”
(1939), "He Walked By Nigh”(1948),
and "
The West Point Story" in 1950 before retiring
from Hollywood at age 25.
