   Charles Durning (February 28, 1923 – December 24, 2012)

 

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Charles Durning, the two-time Oscar
nominee who was dubbed the king of the character actors for
his skill in playing everything from a Nazi colonel to the pope,
died Monday of natural causes in his home in New York City.

JACK KLUGMAN HAS DIED AT 90!

Jacob Joachim "Jack" Klugman
(April 27, 1922 – December 24, 2012)

Klugman died at his home in Northridge, California. He was diagnosed with throat
cancer in 1974 and lost a vocal cord to cancer in 1989, but continued to act. The
exact cause of his death is not known. 

He was best known as Felix Unger‘s sloppy roommate Oscar Madison in the ABC
television series The Odd Couple (1970–1975), for his starring role in Quincy, M.E.
on NBC-TV (1976–1983), as Juror #5 in 12 Angry Men, and multiple appearances
on The Twilight Zone.

The adventure film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was the first science fiction
film
produced by Walt Disney Productions, as well as the only science-fiction 
film produced by
Walt Disney himself. It was also the first feature length Disney
film to be distributed by
Buena Vista Distribution. It has become the best-known
adaptation of the book of the same name by Jules Verne. This film is also the 
fifth live-action movie by Disney.
