DAVE FROHNMAYER HAS DIED AT 74

Dave Frohnmayer (July 9, 1940 – March 9, 2015)

Frohnmayer was an attorney, politician, and university administrator
from Oregon. He was the 15th president of the University of Oregon
(
UO), serving from 1994 to 2009. His tenure as president was the
second-longest after John Wesley Johnson. He was the first native
Oregonian to run the UO. Frohnmayer previously served as Oregon
Attorney General
from 1981 to 1991, and subsequently served as
dean at the University of Oregon School of Law before serving as
president of the university. He died Monday night after battling
prostate cancer.

Jim Howe (1940 – 2015) lost his fight with cancer on Friday February
6. He became a member of the KEX (1190) news staff in 1962 and continued with the Portland station for 39 years.

Mary Ann Mobley (February 17, 1939 – December 9, 2014)

Mary Ann Mobley, the first Miss Mississippi crowned Miss America, died
at her home in Beverly Hills, California Tuesday after a battle with breast
cancer. Mobley appeared opposite Elvis Presley in two 1965 films, “Girl
Happy” and “Harum Scarum”, and appeared on dozens of popular TV
series from the 1960s to the ’90s, including "Perry Mason," "The Love
Boat," "Love, American Style," and "Different Strokes".

Elizabeth Leadbetter “Betty” Meier
(July 26, 1904 – December 2, 2014)

Elizabeth died peacefully at her home in Portland on
Tuesday, Dec. 2. She was the granddaughter of Henry
L. Pittock, pioneer wood and paper magnate who is
often referred to as the founder of The Oregonian 
newspaper. Born in Portland, Oregon, Betty was the 
youngest of four children. She is survived by her children;
stepson; 24 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and
four great-great-grandchildren.
