Thomas Lawson "Tom" McCall (March 22, 1913 – January 8, 1983)
Tom McCall was a radio and television journalist in the state of Oregon. A
Republican, he was the 30th Governor of Oregon from 1967 to 1975. His
two terms as governor were notable for many achievements including the
country’s first "bottle bill". Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland is one
of several items named in his honor.

The last and only American president to visit Cuba while in office was Calvin
Coolidge, who traveled there in January 1928.
Coolidge traveled to Cuba to address the Sixth Annual International Conference
of American States in Havana. He rode a presidential rail car to Key West, Florida
then boarded the U.S.S. Texas battleship for the overnight trip to Havana, Cuba
100 miles away.
