LOS ANGELES (AP) — Patty Andrews, the last surviving member of the singing
Andrews Sisters trio whose hits such as the rollicking "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
of Company B" and the poignant "I Can Dream, Can’t I?" captured the home-front
spirit of World War II, died Wednesday of natural causes at her home in a suburb
of Los Angeles.

The CBS Radio Workshop was an experimental dramatic radio anthology series
that aired on CBS from January 27, 1956, until September 22, 1957. It was one
of the last attempts by CBS to regain some of the listeners that had been lost
to television in the post-World War Two era.

The premiere broadcast was a two-part adaptation of Aldous Huxley‘s Brave New
World
, introduced and narrated by Huxley. Music for the series was composed by
Jerry Goldsmith, Ray Noble and others.
