William Franklin "Billy" Graham, Jr. was born in Charlotte, North
Carolina
.

Since his ministry began in 1947, Billy Graham conducted more than 400
crusades in 185 countries and territories on six continents. The first Billy
Graham Crusade, held September 13–21, 1947, in the Civic Auditorium in
Grand Rapids, Michigan, was attended by 6,000 people. Graham was 29
years old at the time. In 1950, Graham founded the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) with its headquarters in Minneapolis. He was a spiritual
adviser to a number of
U.S. Presidents.

ACTOR BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1913


Burton Stephen "Burt" Lancaster
(November 2, 1913 – October 20, 1994)

Lancaster came to be regarded as one of the best motion picture actors
in history. He was nominated four times for Academy Awards and won once
for his work in Elmer Gantry in 1960. He also won a Golden Globe for that
performance
and BAFTA Awards. In 1999, the American Film Institute named
Lancaster 19th among the greatest male star of classic Hollywood cinema

Jessica McClure Morales turned 29 in March.

The story of baby Jessica gained worldwide attention and later became the
subject of a 1989 television movie Everybody’s Baby: The Rescue of Jessica
McClure on ABC. As presented in it, a vital part of the rescue was the use of
the then relatively new technology of water jet cutting.
