FUTURE PRESIDENT FILED UFO REPORT

Jimmy Carter Saw a UFO On This Day in 1973

Future President Jimmy Carter filed a report with the
International UFO Bureau on September 18, 1973,
claiming he had seen an Unidentified Flying Object
(
UFO) in October 1969.

During the presidential campaign of 1976, Democratic
challenger Carter was forthcoming about his belief that
he had seen a UFO. He described waiting outside for a
Lion’s Club Meeting in Leary, Georgia, to begin, at about
7:30 p.m., when he spotted what he called “the darndest
thing I’ve ever seen” in the sky.

Carter, as well as 10 to 12 other people who witnessed
the same event, described the object as “very bright
[with] changing colors and about the size of the moon.”

Carter reported that “the object hovered about 30 degrees
above the horizon and moved in toward the earth and away
before disappearing into the distance.” He later told a
reporter that, after the experience, he vowed never again
to ridicule anyone who claimed to have seen a UFO.

REPORT ON THE KENNEDY ASSASSINATION

Image result for president johnson received the report from t he warren commission in 1964
THE WARREN COMMISSION HANDING OVER THEIR VOLUMINOUS REPORT ON THE ASSASSINATION
TO PRESIDENT JOHNSON (right).

On September 24, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson received
the Warren commission’s special report on the assassination of President John  F. Kennedy, which had occurred on November
22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas.

Since the assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was killed by a man
named
Jack Ruby almost immediately after murdering
Kennedy, Oswald’s motive for assassinating the president
remained unknown.

Seven days after the assassination, Johnson appointed the
President’s Commission on the Assassination of President
Kennedy to investigate Kennedy’s death.

The commission was led by Chief Justice Earl Warren and
became known as the
Warren Commission. It concluded that
Oswald had acted alone and that the Secret Service had made
poor preparations for JFK’s visit to Dallas and had failed to
sufficiently protect him.

UFO REPORT RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1997

US report ‘makes no definitive finding about UFOs’
    6-25-1997

On this day in history, June 24, 1997, the U.S. Air Force released
a 232-page report titled "The Roswell Report: Case Closed,"
about a mysterious incident near
Roswell, New Mexico, that
some believe was a UFO crash-landing on Earth.

The report was the second part of the government’s official
disclosure about what was found in rural New Mexico in the
1940s. Back in 1994, the government published, "The Roswell
Report: Fact vs. Fiction in the New Mexico Desert."

"The Roswell Incident has assumed a central place in American
folklore since the events of the 1940s in a remote area of New
Mexico," noted the foreword of the 1997 report, written by
Secretary of the Air Force Sheila A. Widnall (below).

U.S. Surgeon General Luther Terry released the first report of the Advisory Committee on Smoking and Health.

U.S. Surgeon General Luther Terry knew his report was a bombshell. He intentionally chose to release it on January 11, 1964, a Saturday, so as to
limit its immediate effects on the stock market. It was on this date that, on
behalf of the U.S. Government, Terry announced a definitive link between
smoking and cancer.
