Ronald Wilson Reagan (February 6, 1911 – June 5, 2004)

As the 40th president of the United States, the former movie star
was called the “Great Communicator” for his ability to get through
to ordinary Americans and give them hope and optimism for their
own future and that of their country.

Despite his lifelong opposition to “big” government, he was credited
with restoring faith in the U.S. government and the presidency after
a long era of disillusionment in the wake of Nixon, Vietnam and
economic hardship under Carter.

But before his years of Hollywood stardom, and long before
Washington,
Ronald Reagan was born on February 6, 1911,
in Tampico, a small town in northwestern
Illinois.

RARE EGGS SAVED BY FLIGHT ATTENDANT

Alaska Airlines flight attendant saves rare flamingo eggs during flight; Zoo honors her with ...

SEATTLE  (KOMO)  —  An Alaska Airlines flight attendant was
recently honored by Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo after saving
rare Chilean flamingo eggs on a flight last August.

A zoo official transporting rare was Chilean flamingo eggs from
Zoo Atlanta to Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo when the incubator
keeping them warm stopped working.

Flight attendant Amber said “A passenger rang the call button
and asked if I would help keep some eggs warm.”

Alaska said Amber went to the galley, found some rubber gloves,
and filled them with warm water before bringing them to the zoo
official. The zoo officials then wrapped the gloves around the
eggs to make a makeshift, yet cozy nest.

Nearby plane passengers offered their coats and scarves for
extra insulation.

Amber and her granddaughter, Sunny (above) were honored guests of Woodland Park Zoo, and treated to an exclusive
tour that included a ‘meet and greet’ with the recently-
hatched chicks.

K-9 FINDS MISSING CHILD IN FREEZING TEMP

Massachusetts police K9 on unsuccessful chase for more than 2 miles to find lost 12-year-old in ...

The Auburn Police Department said a Massachusetts police K9
followed her nose to help find a 12-year-old who went missing
in
frigid temperatures last week, tracking the child’s scent for
over two miles.

K9 Biza, a female German shepherd (above) was called on to
help after officers learned the child left their home at around
10:30 p.m. Wednesday and was last seen in the Pakachoag
Hill area of Auburn.

The child had left the home without a cellphone or their mother’s permission, the Worcester Telegram and Gazette reported.

Due to the freezing temperatures, police said that officers,
detectives and Massachusetts State Police troopers
converged on the area to locate the wandering child.

K9 Biza and her handler, Auburn Police Officer David Ljunggren,
(above)were deployed, and the dog eventually picked up a scent.

Biza tracked the scent for over two miles and led officers to an
area where they found evidence that the
missing youth had
passed by a short time earlier. Additional officers converged
on the area and found the child a short time later.
The child
was safe and reunited with family.

Biza joined the police department in 2022. She has her own
Instagram account and was selected as "Miss December”
in the Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog 2024 calendar.
