Raymond Burr won two Emmy Awards in 1959 and 1961 for the role of Perry
Mason (above) which he played for nine seasons between 1957 and 1966 on
CBS-TV. His second hit series, Ironside (1957 –1975 on NBC-TV), earned him
six Emmy Award nominations, and two Golden Globe nominations.

I’m probably the last one to find out that Burr was gay!

Raymond Burr, who stared in the wildly popular TV shows “Perry Mason” and “Ironside,” lived a secret gay life in Hollywood when such a revelation would destroy a career.
He was hilarious in one of his last films, Delirious with John Candy! “Can’t even do that right, can you son?” LOL!
