‘’THE CHAMPAGNE MUSIC MAN’’
IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!
Though mentioned by Benjamin Franklin in 1784, the idea of daylight saving
time, advancing clocks forward one hour so that evenings have more daylight,
was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson and was implemented
during World War ll.
George V. Hudson was an English-born New
Zealand entomologist and astronomer.
THE LES PAUL & MARY FORD SHOW
The Les Paul & Mary Ford Show (aka Les Paul & Mary Ford At Home) was widely syndicated during 1954-’55, and was only five minutes (one or two songs) long on
film. It was often used as a brief interlude or fill-in in programming schedules. Since
Les created the entire show himself, including audio and video, he maintained
the original recordings and was in the process of restoring them to up-to-date
quality until his death in 2009.
