Wallace "Wally" Amos, Jr.

Amos is a entrepreneur and author from Tallahassee, Florida. He
is the founder of the "Famous Amos" chocolate chip cookie brand
in 1975. He later co-founded Uncle Wally’s muffins. He currently
resides in Kailua, Hawaii and also Long Island, New York, where
he runs the Chip & Cookie gourmet cookie brand and stores.

FIRST TELEVISION COMMERCIAL

The first television advertisement was broadcast at 2:29 p.m. (ET) on 
July 1, 1941. NBC affiliate WNBT aired this 10 second spot before a
baseball game between the Brooklyn Dodgers and Philadelphia
Phillies. It was purchased by the Bulova company to promote their
clocks with the phrase, “America Runs on Bulova Time.” Bulova
paid $9 for the world’s first commercial spot.

The first Corvettes produced in Flint, Michigan on June 30, 1953

The first production Corvette rolls off the small assembly line at Chevrolet Plant 35   
near Flint, Michigan on June 30, 1953. Assembly line worker Tony Kleiber (above)
had the honor of driving the first Corvette off the line. It reportedly sold for $3,250.
