The National Broadcasting Company
(NBC) was formed by
by the Radio Corporation of America (RCA). It is the oldest
major broadcast network in the United States. The network
began broadcasting with a gala four-hour radio program
originating from the ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel
in New York City.

Joseph Raymond "Joe" McCarthy (November 14, 1908 – May 2, 1957)

He was noted for making claims that there were large numbers of Communists
and Soviet spies and sympathizers inside the United States federal government
and elsewhere. Ultimately, his claims led him to be censured by the United States Senate.The term McCarthyism was coined in 1950 in reference to McCarthy’s
practices.

Apollo 12 was the sixth manned flight in the United States Apollo program
and the second to land on the Moon. It was launched from the Kennedy
Space Center
,Florida, four months after Apollo 11. Mission commander
Charles "Pete" Conrad and Lunar Module Pilot Alan L. Bean performed
just over one day and seven hours of lunar surface activity while the
Command Module Pilot Richard F. Gordon remained in lunar orbit.
