JAMES NOBLE HAS DIED AT 94


James Wilkes Noble (March 5, 1922 – March 28, 2016) 

Actor James Noble, best known for his portrayal of the sweet-
natured but naive Governor on ABC’s 1980s sitcom Benson
died on Monday in Connecticut. A spokesman for Noble’s
family said that the actor had suffered a stroke the week
prior to his death.

GAME SHOW DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1964

George Alexander "Alex" Trebek will be 76 in July. He is signed as 
host of Jeopardy! through 2018.

The TV game show Jeopardy! was created by Merv Griffin. The original daytime
version debuted on NBC and aired until January 3, 1975. A  weekly nighttime
syndicated edition aired from September 1974 to September 1975, and a revival,
The All-New Jeopardy!, ran on NBC from October 1978 to March 1979. A daily syndicated version premiered on September 10, 1984, and is still airing, making
it by far the program’s most successful incarnation.

Clapton got the nickname Slow hand because he played the
guitar with such ferocity that his strings would break and as
he replaced them onstage, the audience would slowly clap

JOHN ASTIN IS 86 TODAY


John Allen Astin was born in Baltimore, Maryland.

Best known for his role as Gomez Addams on ABC- TV’s The
Addams Family
(1964 – 1966). He was initially a math major
in college at Washington & Jefferson before transferring to
Johns Hopkins.
