Edwin Jack "Eddie" Fisher
(August 10, 1928 – September 22, 2010)
Eddie Fisher sold millions of records and released seventeen
top ten singles in the 1950s, including "Wish You Were Here"
and "Oh! My Pa-Pa." He started competing in amateur singing
contests as a teenager. Fisher was drafted into the U.S. Army
in 1951. Eddy Fisher was married five times. His wives included
Debbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Taylor, and Connie Stevens.

SONG RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1969
"Hot Fun in the Summertime" was recorded by Sly and the Family
Stone. It peaked at number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop
singles chart and number 3 on the Billboard soul singles chart in
autumn 1969. It is ranked as the seventh biggest hit of 1969 and
Rolling Stone ranked the song #247 on it’s list of the "500 Greatest
Songs of All Time", and it also has been named in lists by Yahoo!
Music and AskMen as an all-time "summer anthem."

Hoffman began his acting career at the Pasadena Playhouse with his
roommate and fellow actor Gene Hackman. He made his debut in the
1967 film,The Tiger Makes Out.
