Don Knotts on the live soap opera ‘Search for Tomorrow’


Don Knotts’ first role on television was on the CBS soap opera
Search for Tomorrow from 1953-54. His character was named
Wilbur Peterson, a neurotic guy who didn’t talk much. He would
only speak to one person, his sister. it was Don’s first and only
serious professional role.

Stage, radio, film, television, and voice actress
Christine had along career as a character actress
in film and television, she is
best remembered
as “Mrs. Olson” (or the “Folger’s Coffee Woman”)
in a string of television commercials for the coffee
company during the 1960’s and ‘70s.
  She died at
her Brentwood home of cardiovascular disease.
