

James Byron Dean (February 8, 1931 – September 30, 1955)
After his death in a car crash on September 30, 1955, Dean became the first actor to receive a posthumous Academy
Award nomination for Best Actor for his role in East of
Eden. Upon receiving a second nomination for his role in
Giant the following year.

Thomas Jeffrey Hanks is an American actor and filmmaker. Known
for both his comedic and dramatic roles, he is one of the most
popular and recognizable film stars worldwide, and is regarded as
an American cultural icon. Hanks’s films have grossed more than
$4.9 billion in North America and more than $9.96 billion worldwide, making him the fourth-highest-grossing actor in North America.
Hanks made his breakthrough with leading roles in a series of
comedy films which received positive media attention, such as
Splash (1984), Bachelor Party (1984), and Big (1988) He won two consecutive Academy Awards for Best Actor for starring as a gay
lawyer suffering from AIDS in Philadelphia (1993) and the title
character in Forrest Gump (1994).

Henry Jaynes Fonda (May 16, 1905 – August 12, 1982)
Henry Fonda had a career that spanned five decades on
Broadway and in Hollywood. Fonda cultivated a strong,
appealing screen image in several films now considered
to be classics.
Fonda made his mark early as a Broadway actor and made
his Hollywood film debut in 1935. He rose to film stardom
with performances in such films as; Jezebel (1938), Jesse
James (1939), and Young Mr. Lincoln (1939). His career
further progressed with his portrayal of Tom Joad in The
Grapes of Wrath (1940), receiving a nomination for the
Academy Award for Best Actor.

On April 9, 1962, Puerto Rican actress Rita Moreno become the first Hispanic woman to win an Oscar, for her role of Anita in West Side
Story (1961).
Moreno, who was born in Puerto Rico in 1931 and grew up in Long Island, New York, began acting at a young age, landing her first Broadway role at the age of 13. She will turn 91 in December.
