ws the founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Company, now know as KFC. His
iconic image remains in company promotions today. Sanders was given the title
of honorary "Kentucky Colonel” in 1935 by the Governor of Kentucky, Ruby
Laffoon and was “re-commissioned” by Governor Lawrence Wetherby. Over
the years Sanders developed his “secret recipe” for frying chicken in a
pressure fryer that cooked the chicken much faster than pan frying.

‘’E DAY’’ WAS ON THIS DATE IN 1957

 edsel

The Edsel was introduced amid considerable publicity on "E Day",
September 4, 1957. It was also promoted by a top-rated television
special, The Edsel Show, on October 13, but the promotional effort
was not enough to counter the adverse initial public reaction to the
car’s styling and conventional build. Ford announced the end of the
Edsel program on Thursday, November 19, 1959. However, the
production of the car continued until late in November, with the
final tally at 2,846 1960 models.
