DETECTIVE SHOW BEGAN ON THIS DAY IN 1942
Joseph Curtin and Alice Frost played Jerry and Pam North
In 1946, Mr. and Mrs. North received the first Best Radio Drama
Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America. Though the
program aired one time in 1941, it began a continuous original
run on CBS from December 30, 1942 through December 1946.
The radio show Mr. and Mrs. North was based on a series of
26 novels written by the husband-wife team of Frances and
Richard Lockridge starting in 1940 and continuing until the
the death of Frances in 1963.

William H. Bonney (William Henry McCarty, Jr.)
(November 23, 1859 – July 14, 1881)
Bonney became a frontier outlaw in the American Old West. According to legend,
he killed 21 men, but it is generally believed that he killed between four and nine
men. He himself was shot dead at age twenty-one by legendary sheriff Pat Garrett.
