In what came to be known as “Black Sunday,” one of the
most devastating storms of the 1930s
Dust Bowl era
swiped across the region on April 14, 1935.

High winds kicked up clouds of millions of tons of dirt and
dust so dense and dark that some eyewitnesses believed
the world was coming to an end.

The storm caused immense economic and agricultural
damage. It is estimated that 300 thousand tons of topsoil
were displaced from the prairie area

April 10, 1912: Titanic Sets Sail from England on its Maiden and Final Journey | F. Rewind - YouTube

The RMS Titanic set sail on her ill-fated and only voyage on April
10th, 1912 from Southampton, England.

She stopped in Cherbourg in France and Queenstown in Ireland
to pick up passengers, crew and supplies.

The Titanic was carrying about 1320 passengers and 907 crew on
the ship. She struck an iceberg near Newfoundland and sank with
the loss of 1,523 of her 2,200 passengers and crew.

Country music singer and songwriter Tammy Wynette is considered among the genre’s most influential and successful artists.

Wynette was plagued by health problems throughout her life. Her
health declined even more in the final years of her life and she
began to look frailer.

Tammy Wynette died from a blood clot in her lung. She was only
55.
