Harland David "Colonel" Sanders (September 9, 1890 – December 16, 1980)
ws the founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Company, now know as KFC. His
iconic image remains in company promotions today. Sanders was given the title
of honorary "Kentucky Colonel” in 1935 by the Governor of Kentucky, Ruby
Laffoon and was “re-commissioned” by Governor Lawrence Wetherby. Over
the years Sanders developed his “secret recipe” for frying chicken in a
pressure fryer that cooked the chicken much faster than pan frying.

The "Wienermobile" is a automobile shaped like a hot dog that is used to advertise
Oscar Mayer products. I was created in 1936 by Oscar’s nephew, Carl G. Mayer. The
first model of the “Wienermobile”(top pic) rolled out of General Body Company’s  factory
in Chicago, Illinois on July 18, 1936. The cost of the promotional vehicle was $5000. The drivers of the “Wienermobile” are known as Hotdoggers and are still on the road today.

Archie Andrews, based on the comic book series, was also a long-running radio
show that began on the NBC Blue Network on May 31, 1943, switched to Mutual
in 1944, and then continued on NBC from 1945 until September 5, 1953. The
program’s original announcer was Kenneth Banghart, later succeeded by Bob
Shepard (during the 1947-48 season, when Swift and Company sponsored the
program) and Dick Dudley. Archie was first played by Charles Mullen, Jack
Grimes and Burt Boyar, with Bob Hastings (below) as the title character during
the NBC years. Jughead was portrayed by Hal Stone and Cameron Andrews. For
the NBC run, Betty was portrayed by Rosemary Rice (below), and Veronica by
Gloria Mann.
