Winston Churchill was a British Conservative politician and statesman known for his leadership of the United Kingdom during World War ll. He served as Prime Minister    twice (1940-1945 and 1951-1955).

LUNAR MODULE’S FIRST FLIGHT ON THIS DAY IN 1968

APOLLO 5 LIFTOFF

Apollo 5 was the first unmanned flight of the Apollo Lunar Module, which would
later carry astronauts to the Moon. It lifted off on Monday, January 22, 1968 with
a Saturn 1B rocket. The mission tested the Lunar Module in space environment
and the descent and ascent engine systems.
