GROUPS CO – FOUNDING MEMBER HAS DIED

Katherine Anderson-Schaffner, a founding member of
The Marvelettes, has died at age 79. A cause of death
is unknown.

The news was confirmed by her daughter, Keisha
Schaffner, on Wednesday (Sept. 20) via
Facebook.

him pursue his dreams of becoming a comedian and actor.

After leaving the service in 1986, Carey began performing stand-up comedy around Cleveland and eventually made it to Hollywood
where he found success as one of America’s most beloved
funnymen.

The Misfits is a 1961 Contemporary Western film written by
Arthur Miller, directed by John Huston, and starring Clark
Gable
, Marilyn Monroe, and Montgomery Clift (above). The
supporting cast includes
Thelma Ritter
and Eli Wallach.

  
The Misfits
was the last completed film for both Clark Gable
and Marilyn Monroe. For Gable, the film was posthumously
released, while Monroe died in August 1962 after its release.

Adapted by Miller from his own short story of the same name
published in Esquire in October 1957.
