Wilder served as the 66th Governor of Virginia from 1990 to 1994. His
most recent political office was Mayor of Richmond, Virginia, which he
held from 2005 to 2009. Wilder served in the Korean War, earning a
Bronze Star for heroism at Pork Chop Hill. He will turn 82 January 17.

Carl Sandburg (January 6, 1878 – July 22, 1967)
Carl Sandburg was a writer and editor, best known for his poetry. He
received three Pulitzer Prizes: two for his poetry and another for his
biography of Abraham Lincoln. Before fame, Sandburg flunked out
of the West Point military academy after poor grades on math and
grammar exams.

Bendix Model 526C Catalin Table Radio (1945/46)
The Bendix model 526C was one of 16 new models that debuted in New York City
during a showing before distributors in October of 1945. The line marked the first
time entry of Bendix Aviation Corporation’s Radio Division into the production of
domestic radios. They had been a manufacturer of military avionics during WWll.
ACTOR JON VOIGHT IS 74 TODAY!
Jonathan Vincent "Jon" Voight won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his
portrayal of a paraplegic Vietnam War veteran in Coming Home (1978). He
gained popularity in 1969 with his performance as a would-be-gigolo in the
movie Midnight Cowboy. Voight was also in Deliverance (1972). He is the
biological father of film actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven.
