ACTOR/DIRECTOR DIES AT 90
Richard Samuel Attenborough, Baron Attenborough
(29 August 1923 – 24 August 2014)
Acclaimed actor and Oscar-winning director Richard Attenborough, whose film
career on both sides of the camera spanned 60 years, has died.
The actor’s son, Michael Attenborough told the BBC that his father died Sunday,
after having been in poor health for some time.
In March 2013, in light of his deteriorating health, Attenborough moved into a
nursing home in London.

VETERAN ACTRESS IS 85 TODAY
Vera Miles was born Vera June Ralston in Boise City, Oklahoma
Miles worked with Alfred Hitchcock playing Janet Leigh’s sister in Psycho
(1960) and Psycho II (1983). She also played a role in The Man Who Shot
Liberty Valance (1962).
She was crowned Miss Kansas in 1948 and was the third runner-up in the
Miss America pageant in 1951.

Barbara Eden was born Barbara Jean Morehead in Tucson, Arizona
Actress Eden is best known for her role on NBC TV’s I Dream of Jeanie from
1965 to 1970 and appeared in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in 1961.She
began singing with local bands at age 14 for $10 a night in local night clubs.
