Edd Byrnes was born Edward Byrne Breitenberger in New York City

Byrnes is best remembered for his starring role in the ABC television series
77 Sunset Strip (1958-1964). He also was featured in the 1978 film Grease
as television teen-dance show host, Vince Fontaine. He recorded the hit
single "Kookie, Kookie — Lend Me Your Comb" with Connie Stevens in
1959.

   Clara Gordon Bow (July 29, 1905 – September 27, 1965)

Actress Clara Bow was a silent film star during the 1920s who came
to personify the Roaring Twenties and is described as its leading sex
symbol. She appeared in 46 silent films and 11 talkies, including hits
such as Mantrap (1926), It (1927) and Wings (1927). It was her role 
in the film It that brought her global fame and the nickname. Bow died
of a heart attack at the age of 60.

The British-American animated fantasy film Alice in Wonderland was
produced by Walt Disney Productions and is the 13th film in the Walt
Disney Animated Classics series. It was first released in London on
July 26 for its world premier. The comedy-adventure film features the
voices of Kathryn Beaumont as Alice, and Ed Wynn as the Mad Hatter.

SALLY STRUTHERS IS 67 TODAY

Sally Struthers won two Emmy Awards for her portrayal of  Gloria Stivic on
the CBS television series All in the Family (1971-1979). Sally was born in
Portland, Oregon where she attended Grant High School. She received a
scholarship for the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theater Arts. Struthers
Made her TV debut as a dancer on a Herb Alpert special. She is presently a
spokesperson for the Christian Children’s Fund.
