When Beach Party hit screens it was a huge success with the first five-day grosses
reportedly well ahead its competition, which consisted of the popular currently
running major studio films Hud, Tammy and the Doctor, The Nutty Professor
and The Birds. Beach Party was the first of the five American-International
Beach Party movies.

America and worked as a counselor for the Reptile Study
merit badge at Napowan Adventure Base Scout Camp. He
worked as a carpenter and briefly served as a stagehand
for The Doors.

SINGLE RECORDED ON THIS DAY IN 1964
The song "Come See About Me" was recorded by The Supremes for
the Motown label. It became third of five consecutively released songs
by The Supremes to top the Billboard pop singles chart. The Supremes
disbanded in 1977 after 18 years.
