
Jerry Lee Lewis (The Killer) is 81 years old today.
Lewis was expelled from Southwest Bible Institute for playing
what they termed "devil’s music." He played music in Natchez,
Mississippi to make a living. Jerry Lee Lewis has been described
as "rock & roll’s first great wild man and is the last living member
of the Sun Records Million Dollar Quartet (below).
Released in November of 1957, this is one of the best-selling singles in the United States, as well as one of the world’s best-
selling singles of all time.
William Oliver Stone is 70 years old today.
As a teenager, Stone worked in the French Financial
Exchange. He then went into the Army and served in
Vietnam from June 1965 to 1968.His 1991 film JFK led
to Congress passing the Assassination Materials
Disclosure Act of 1992, which ended the secrecy
surrounding John F. Kennedy‘s assassination.

Buddy Holly won a talent contest when he was five years old for singing
"Have You Ever Gone Sailing (Down the River of Memories)." Rolling
Stone ranked him as the thirteenth "Greatest Artist of All Time."
The 8 .5-foot-tall bronze statue of the rock ‘n roll legend in Lubbock,
Texas.
