José Montserrate Feliciano García is 78 years old today.

The Puerto Rican musician, singer and composer. He recorded
many international hits, including his rendition of the Doors‘
"Light My Fire" and his self-penned Christmas song "Feliz
Navidad".

(History Channel) – Elvis Presley, at age 21, broke television
records with his first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show"
on this day in history, Sept. 9, 1956.

Elvis — along with his famous "gyrations" — had been
banned previously by Ed Sullivan from appearing on his
show.

However, after several of his competitors saw massive ratings
when Presley appeared on their shows, Sullivan reconsidered
his ban.

An Elvis Presley firearm sold for a pretty penny on an Illinois
auction block recently.

The king of rock ‘n’ roll’s Smith & Wesson Model 53 revolver
fetched $199,750 at Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC)’s
August Premier Auction on Aug. 26 in Rock Island, Illinois.

The engraved revolver exceeded its pre-auction estimate of
$60,000 to $90,000 due to "competitive bidding from gun
enthusiasts" and Elvis fans around the world, according to
a press release from RIAC.

(TMZ) – Gary Wright, the musician – who was best known for
his hit singles ‘Dream Weaver’ and ‘Love Is Alive’ – passed
away at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, California on
Monday (04.09.23). He was 80.

The outlet went on to report that in the last six years, Gary
had been diagnosed with brain disorder Parkinson’s as well
as Lewy body dementia shortly afterwards.

A statement posted on his website said Jimmy Buffett passed
away peacefully Friday night "surrounded by his family, friends,
music and dogs.” A cause of death was not immediately released.
