“WHO’S ON FIRST?”

From The Abbott and Costello Show (1952-1954) episode "The Actor’s
Home". The routine is considered one of the greatest of all time and
was a template for many of the best-known Abbott and Costello bits. 

In 1956 a gold record of "Who’s on First?" was placed in the National
Baseball
Hall of Fame and Museum
in Cooperstown, New York.

GOLF STAR IS 84 YEARS OLD TODAY

Arnold Daniel Palmer is a championship PGA golfer who won four Masters 
tournaments. He is
regarded as one of the greatest players in the history
of men’s professional golf. Nicknamed “The King”, Palmer won the PGA 
Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998, and in 1974 was inducted into
the
World Golf Hall of Fame.

Carl Scheib, 1952 Topps, Card # 116

Scheib of the Philadelphia Athletics was youngest player to debut
in an American League baseball game. He was 16 years, eight
months and five days old. He led the American League in Wild
Pitches (9) in 1950 and was one of the best hitting pitchers of
his time. Carl Alvin Scheib turned 86 on January 1st.
