DAVID SOUL IS 74 YEARS OLD TODAY

David Soul (David Richard Solberg)

David Soul teamed up with Paul Michael Glaser in the role of Hutch as
part of the famed duo Starsky and Hutch on ABC-TV from 1975- 1979.

Before an acting career, David studied political science when he was
19 years old and later went in a music direction. He was offered a
professional baseball contract in 1962 to play for the Chicago White
Sox, but he turned it down. In September 2004 Soul became a British
citizen, while retaining his U.S. citizenship.

Jay Thomas (Jon Thomas Terrell)
  (July 12, 1948 – August 24, 2017)

Jay Thomas, was an actor, comedian, and radio talk show host. He was heard in
New York in the mid-1970s and in Los Angeles beginning in 1986 on KPWR "Power
106", where he hosted the station’s top-rated morning show until 1993. His notable television work included his co-starring role as Remo DaVinci on ABC’s Mork &
Mindy
(1979–81), the recurring role of Eddie LeBec on NBC’s Cheers (1987–89), 
and a repeat guest role as Jerry Gold on Murphy Brown (CBS). He won the
Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 1990
and 1991 for portraying Gold. Thomas had been battling cancer. His wife, Sally,
and his sons, Sam, Jake, and J.T., were by his side when he died yesterday.

Cynthia Jane "Cindy" Williams was born in Los Angeles, California.

Cindy Williams starred as Shirley Feeney on the ABC television series Laverne
and Shirley
from 1976 to 1983. She also portrayed Laurie Henderson in the hit
1973 coming of age film American Graffiti. She debuted as an actress through
a variety of commercials for Foster Grant sunglasses (below).

Roberto Enrique Clemente Walker
(August 18, 1934 – December 31, 1972)

Hall of Fame MLB outfielder Roberto Clemente played for the Pittsburgh
Pirates from 1955 to 1972. He was named National League MVP in 1966
and was a 2-time World Series Champion, winning World Series MVP
honors in 1971. He died tragically in a 1972 plane crash while flying to
Nicaragua to tend to earthquake victims. Clemente would deliver milk
cans in order to help make ends meet while growing up.

Actor and director Robert Redford founded the Sundance Film Festival. He starred
in classic films such as All the President’s Men (1976), The Sting (1973), and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) . His 1980 directorial debut, Ordinary People, received the Academy Award for Best Picture and earned him the Academy Award
for Best Director.
