According to his agent, the Rock’n’roll superstar
died at home with his family by his side.
No cause of death was shared but unconfirmed
reports suggested he had died of Covid-related
complications.
PORTLAND, Ore. — TriMet is honoring civil rights activist Rosa
Parks on Friday, February 4 on what would have been her 109th
birthday.
Officials said no fares will be collected for bus, MAX, WES or LIFT.
Portland Streetcar and C-TRAN will also provide free rides as an
annual tribute to Rosa Parks.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Louie Anderson, whose four-decade career
as a comedian and actor included his unlikely, Emmy-winning
performance as mom to twin adult sons in the TV series “Baskets,”
died Friday in a hospital in Las Vegas of complications from a form
of blood cancer. He was 68.
On January 20, 1980, in a letter to the United States Olympic
Committee (USOC) and a television interview, U.S. President
Jimmy Carter proposed that the 1980 Summer Olympics be
moved from the planned host city, Moscow, if the Soviet
Union failed to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan within
a month.
After the IOC denied Carter’s request, the USOC later voted to
boycott the Moscow games, a decision that Carter announced
on March 21, 1980.
