IT’S JOHN TRAVOLTA’S BIRTHDAY ~ 57 TODAY
John Travolta first became known in the 1970s, after appearing on the ABC-TV series
Welcome Back, Kotter (1975 – 1979) and starring in the box office successes Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Grease (1978). His career faced a resurgence in the 1990s with his role in Pulp Fiction (1994), and he has since continued starring in many Hollywood films.Travolta has twice been nominated for the Academy Award For Best Actor.The first, for his role in Saturday Night Fever and the second for Pulp Fiction. He won the Golden Globe Award For Best Actor-Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his 1995 performance in Get Shorty.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOLLY RINGWALD ~ 43 TODAY
Molly Kathleen Ringwald, actress, singer and dancer, has appeared in
the John Hughes movies Sixteen Candles (1984), The Breakfast Club
(1985), and Pretty in Pink (1986), Ringwald has been frequently named
the greatest teen star of all time.

Dale Earnhardt died in a last-lap crash of “the Super Bowl of NASCAR”,
the Daytona 500. Hours later, at a press conference, NASCAR President
Mike Hilton made the formal announcement to the world saying, "This is
undoubtedly one of the toughest announcements that I’ve ever personally
had to make. But…after the accident in Turn 4 at the end of the Daytona
500, we’ve lost Dale Earnhardt”.
Earnhardt had notable success in the Winston Cup Series, now called the
Sprint Cup Series, winning seventy-six races, including one Daytona 500
victory in 1998. Earnhardt’s seven championships are tied for most all-time
with Richard Petty. Dale Earnhardt as been inducted in numerous halls of
fame, including the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010.
GEORGE KENNEDY TURNED 86 TODAY
George Kennedy has appeared in over 200 film and television productions. He is best known as the convict Dragline in Cool Hand Luke (1967),for which he won an Academy Award, airline troubleshooter Joe Patroni in the Airport series of disaster movies from the 1970s and as Captain Ed Hocken in the Naked Gun series of comedy films with the late Leslie Nielsen (1988,1991, and 1994).
