JESSICA LANGE IS 62 TODAY

Jessica Lange is a stage and screen actress whose career has spanned
thirty-five years. She has won two Academy Awards from six nominations,
four Golden Globes, and an Emmy. Jessica’s career began in 1976 when
Dino De Laurentis cast her in his remake of the film King Kong. Jessica is
most known for her roles in Sweet Dreams (1985), Blue Sky (1994), and
Tootsie (1982). Since 2000, Lange has mostly appeared in supporting
roles on screen.

The Boston Marathon is an annual event hosted by the city of Boston, Massachusetts
on Patriot’s Day, the third Monday of April. It began in 1897 and was inspired by the success of the first modern-day marathon competition in the 1896 Summer Olympics. The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual marathon and ranks as one of the world’s best-known road racing events. The first marathon started with 18 participants, and today it attracts an average of 20,000 registered participants each year. It is the most widely viewed sporting event in New England.

General of the Army Douglas MacArthur (January 26, 1880 – April 5, 1964) made
his last official appearance in a farewell address to the U.S. Congress on April
19, 1951. The address was interrupted by fifty ovations and is considered to
be one of the most impressive and divisive oratorical performances of recent  
times.
