                 Michelangelo (di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni) 

                          (March 6, 1475 – February 18, 1564)

Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer who
had a great influence on the development of Western Art. Michelangelo was
considered the the greatest living artist in his lifetime, and ever since then he
has been held to be one of the greatest artists of all time. A number of his
works in painting, sculpture, and architecture rank among the most famous
in existence, such the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome (below).

Robert "Rob" Reiner is a multitalented actor, director, producer, and writer  
who gained national attention as an actor playing Michael “Meathead” Stivic, 
on the CBS sitcom All in the Family (1971-1979). That portrayal earned him 
two Emmy Awards during the 1970s.

As a director, Reiner was recognized by the Directors Guild of America with
nominations for the films Stand by Me (1988), When Harry Met Sally (1989),
and A Few Good Men (1992). He also directed Misery (1990).

MUSICAL SONGWRITER IS DEAD AT 86!

       Robert Bernard Sherman
(December 19, 1925 – March 5, 2012)

Award winning songwriter Robert Sherman specialized in musical films with his
brother Richard Morton Sherman. Some of their best known songs were heard
in movies and animations such as “Marry Poppins”, “The Jungle Book”, and “Chitty
Chitty Bang Bang”. Sherman’s agent, Stella Richards, said that he died peacefully Monday in London.

The Oreo cookie was born in the U.S. on March 6, 1912 when the National
Biscuit Company (later re-branded Nabisco, and even later merged with Kraft)
sold its Oreo Sandwiches for the first time to a grocer in Hoboken, N.J. Over
491 billion Oreo cookies have been sold since they were first introduced,
making them the best selling cookie of the 20th century.
