CHARLIE PRIDE IS 74 TODAY!
Charley Frank Pride is one of the few Black country musicians to have
had considerable success in the largely Caucasian country music field
and the only one to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2010. His
greatest success came in the early-to mid-1970s, when he became
the best-selling performer for RCA Records since Elvis Presley. His
incredible legacy includes 36 #1 hit singles.
On October 4, 2000, Charley Pride was honored with the highest
country music award, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall
of Fame. He is still recording and touring extensively world wide.

PRESIDENT BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1837
Stephen Grover Cleveland (March 18, 1837 – June 24, 1908)
Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States
and is the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms in office
(1885-1889 and 1893-1897) and is therefore the only individual to
be counted twice in the numbering of presidents.
Grover Cleveland was the only Democrat elected to the presidency
in the era of Republican political domination that lasted from 1861
to 1913.
The Grover Cleveland Presidential Dollar (First Term)
will be the second release of the year and the twenty-
second release for the series overall.
