(March 8, 1910– April 8, 2000)

Trevor was an Academy Award-winning actress who portrayed many
’’bad girl”roles in film noir and other black-and-white thrillers. She
appeared in over 60 films. Her acting career spanned more than
seven decades and included successes in stage, radio, television
and film.

CIVIL WAR BATTLE BEGAN ON THIS DAY IN 1862

 Monitor-Merrimac-combat

The Battle of Hampton Roads, often referred to as the Battle of the Monitor and
Merrimack was the first battle between two Ironclad warships and is considered
to be the most important naval battle of the Civil War. It was fought to a draw during
five-hours, ending early the following day on March 9th. The battle took place outside
a harbor in Virginia called Hampton Roads.
