‘’CLYDE THE GLIDE’’ IS 53 YEARS OLD TODAY


Clyde Austin Drexler was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Hall of Fame guard/forward Clyde Drexler won an Olympic gold medal with the
legendary Dream Team in 1992. He was selected to 10 NBA All-Star games as
a member of the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets and won an NBA
Championship with the Rockets in 1995.

Hal David. Herb Alpert also recorded the song in Spanish and Italian.

Herbert "Herb" Alpert turned 80 in March.

Al Martino
’s recording of “Here in My Heart” made history as the first number one
on the UK Singles Chart, on 14 November 1952, the song remained in the top
position for nine weeks in the United Kingdom, setting a record for the longest consecutive run at number one, a record which, over 50 years on, has only been
beaten by five other singles.
