SINGLE RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1965

The song “Barbara Ann” peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1
in Cash Box and Record World.  It also topped the charts in Germany, 
Switzerland and Norway. It was The Beach Boys’ biggest hit in Italy,
reaching the #4 position.

SINGLE RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1960

The song “Calendar Girl” was a success for Neil Sedaka,
peaking at number-four on the Billboard chart. Recording
of the song required 26 takes over a three-hour period. The
music was composed by Sedaka and the lyrics by Howard
Greenfield
who got the inspiration for the song title from an
old movie listing in a TV Guide magazine
.

 


Neil Sedaka turned 76 on March 13th.

MIKE LOOKINLAND IS 55 TODAY


Michael Paul "Mike" Lookinland

Lookinland is best known for playing the role of Bobby Brady
on the ABC television series, The Brady Bunch from 1969-
1974. He was a commercial actor who had done around 30
commercials before being cast in The Brady Bunch.

The television panel show To Tell the Truth was created by Bob Stewart
and produced by Goodson-Todman Productions. Bud Collyer was the
show’s host. Recurring panelists by the 1960s included Tom Poston
,
Peggy Cass, Orson Bean, and Kitty Carlisle. Earlier regular panelists
had included Johnny Carson
, Polly Bergen, and Jayne Meadows.
