Nancy Sue Wilson (February 20, 1937 – December 13, 2018)

Los Angeles (AP) – Nancy Wilson, the Grammy-winning "song stylist"
and torch singer whose polished pop-jazz vocals made her a platinum
artist and top concert performer, has died.

According to her manager and publicist Devra Hall Levy, Wilson, who
retired from touring in 2011, died after a long illness at her after a long
illness at her home in Pioneer town, a California desert community near
Joshua Tree National Park.

She received many nicknames including "Sweet Nancy", "The Baby",
"Fancy Miss Nancy" and "The Girl With the Honey-Coated Voice".

Richard “Dick” Wayne Van Dyke 93 years old today.

Dick Van Dyke is the Star of The Dick Van Dyke Show 
on CBS (1961 – 1966) and Diagnosis: Murder on CBS 
(1993 – 2001). He won a SAG Life Achievement award      
in 2012 and a Disney Legend Award in 1998. He also      
starred in the 1964 classic Mary Poppins and was 
cast in the film’s sequel, Mary Poppins Returns.

In Oslo, Norway on this day in 1964, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
received the Nobel Peace Prize. He was the youngest person
to receive the award at the age of 35.

The first domestic passenger jet flight took place in the U.S. on
this day in 1958 when 111 passengers flew from New York to
Miami on a National Airlines Boeing 707 leased from Pan
American World Airways. In 1959 the Lockheed L-188 Electra
was introduced into the fleet. It was the only turboprop aircraft
type ever operated by the airline.

Kirk Douglas (Issur Danielovitch) is 102 years old today.

Legendary movie actor Kirk Douglas starred in 20,000 Leagues Under the
Sea (1954), Paths of  Glory (1957), Gunfight at the O.K Corral (1957), and
Spartacus (1960). Kirk Douglas became a legend on the silver screen,
receiving the Academy Honorary Award in 1996. He was a successful
competitive wrestler while in college and served in the U.S. Navy.

William Henry Gates III is 63 years old today.

Business magnate, investor, author, philanthropist, humanitarian, and
principal founder of Microsoft Corporation. During his career at Microsoft,
Gates held the positions of chairman, CEO and chief software architect,
while also being the largest individual shareholder until May 2014. He
stepped down as chairman of Microsoft in February 2014 and assumed
a new post as technology adviser to support the newly appointed CEO
Satya Nadella.

Julia Fiona Roberts is 51 years young today.

Julia Roberts gained fame after starring in Pretty Woman 1990 and went
on to win an Oscar for her leading role in Erin Brockovich in 2000.
