    Lyndon Baines Johnson (August 27, 1908 – January 22, 1973) 

   

Lyndon Johnson was the 36th President of the United States (1963–1969) He
succeeded to the presidency following the assassination of John F. Kennedy
on November 22, 1963.

Johnson is one of only four people who served in all four elected federal offices
of the United States: Representative, Senator, Vice President, and President.

raised criticism from dog lovers in 1964.

Mariner 2 was the first successful spacecraft in the NASA Mariner program and
the first space probe to conduct a successful planetary encounter. It passed
within 22,000 miles of Venus on December 14, 1962.The spacecraft was
designed and built by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the California Institute
of Technology
