BUDDY’S WEDDING ON THIS DAY IN 1958

BUDDY HOLLY AUCTION
Buddy and Maria Holly

Maria Elena Santiago and Charles Hardin Holley, better known as Buddy
Holly, were married in the home of his parents, Ella and Lawrence Holley. 

Holly met Maria while visiting New York City on business. On February 3,
1959, Holly died in the crash of a private place near Clear Lake, Iowa. He
was only 22.
Maria, who was pregnant, watched the first reports of Holly’s
death on television. The following day she miscarried.

Maria Elena Holly will be 83 in December.

This song along with "It Doesn’t Matter Anymore" and "Raining in My
Heart", was recorded during what would be Buddy’s last recording
session before his death.
