The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency
of the U.S. government. It was established by the Communications Act of
1934 as a successor to the Federal Radio Commission and is charged with
regulating all non-federal use of radio and television broadcasting, interstate telecommunications, wire, satellite and cable.
