Mission: Impossible is a television series the aired on the CBS network from
September 17, 1966 to March 30, 1973. The leader of the team for the first
season was Dan Briggs, played by Steven Hill. The leader for the following
seasons was Jim Phelps, played by Peter Graves. The iconic theme music
was composed by Lalo Schifrin.

CASSANDRA ‘’ELVIRA’’ PETERSON IS 60 TODAY

Actress Cassandra Peterson is best known for her on-screen horror hostess
character Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. She gained fame on Los Angeles TV
station KHJ as host of Movie Macabre, a weekly horror movie show. During
her teens in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Peterson worked as a  go-go
dancer at a local bar. After graduating from high school, she moved to Las
Vegas, Nevada, where she became a showgirl at The Dunes. She had a
small role as a showgirl in the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are
Forever
. Cassandra reportedly dated Elvis Presley for a short.

REMEMBERING HANK WILLIAMS SR.

                  (September 17, 1923 – January 1, 1953)

Hank Williams, born Hiram King Williams in Mount Olive, Alabama, was a singer-songwriter and musician regarded as one of the most important country music
artists of all time. Williams recorded 35 singles (five released posthumously)
that would place in the Top 10 of the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers
chart, including 11 that ranked number one. He has received numerous honors
and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 under the
category Early Influence. He was ranked second in CMT’s 40 Greatest Men of
Country Music in 2003, behind Johnny Cash. His son, Hank Jr. is on the same list.

U.S. CONSTITUTION SIGNED ON THIS DAY IN 1787

The Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the United States
of America and is the framework for the organization of the three branches
of government. It was adopted on September 17, 1787, by the Constitutional
Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Constitution been amended twenty-seven times; the first ten amendments
are known as the Bill of Rights. It is the second oldest written constitution still
in use by any nation in the world. The original handwritten document penned
by Jacob Shallus is on display at the National Achieves in Washington, D.C.
