“SPAM”…THE FOOD!
Spam ,originally called spiced ham, was first introduced in 1937. The canned
precooked meat product is made by the Hormel Foods Corporation. Spam has
been the brunt of many jokes and urban legends which has made the product
part of pop culture, often called “mystery meat”. In 2007, the seven billionth
can of Spam was sold.
VETERAN ACTRESS IS 86 TODAY!
Barbara Rush played in many notable 50s films, including "When
Worlds Collide" and "It Came From Outer Space". Rush began her
career on stage and it has always been a part of her professional
life.

IT WAS ON THIS DAY IN 1953 ~
The crowd in front of Municipal Auditorium in Montgomery, Alabama during
the funeral of Hank Williams.
Among those in attendance were Opry stars Roy Acuff, Jimmy Dickens, Carl Smith, Webb Pierce, Bill Monroe, Red Foley, Ray Price, June Carter and
Johnnie and Jack Wright.
The open casket with Hank Williams dressed in one of his white stage suits,
in his hands there was a small white bible. Standing honor guard were The Drifting Cowboys.
