TINA LOUISE TURNED 79 TODAY
Tina Louise (Tatiana Josivovna Chernova Blacker) began
studying acting, singing and dancing at the age of 17. She
is best remembered as Ginger Grant from the CBS series
‘Gilligan’s Island’ (1964-1967).

SERIES DEBUT ON THIS DAY IN 1956
My Friend Flicka aired on CBS from 1956 to 1957, then ran on
NBC, with reruns on ABC and CBS between 1959 and 1966. It
starred Johnny Washbrook as Ken McLaughlin, a boy devoted
to his horse Flicka. Washbrook appeared on several TV shows
after the series ended, and acted into the 1970s then went into
banking.
