SINGER LINDA RONSTADT IS 67 TODAY
Linda has released over 30 studio albums and 15 greatest hits albums. She
charted thirty-eight Billboard Hot 100 singles with twenty-one reaching the top
40, ten to the top 10, three to No. 2. In addition, she has charted three No. 1
albums on the Billboard Pop Album Charts.
In 1980, Linda Ronstadt made her dramatic debut in the musical comedy "The
Pirates Of Penzance" at the New York Shakespeare Festival in Central Park.
FAMOUS BOOK PUBLISHED ON THIS DAY IN 1946
When “The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care” was first
published, both the book and Dr. Spock, attained fame instantly,
selling 500,000 copies in its first six months. .
By 1998, when Spock died, over 50 million copies of the book had
been sold, making it the best-selling book of the twentieth century
in America, aside from the Bible. As of 2011, the book had been
translated into 39 languages.
