Mike Conners was best known for playing detective Joe Mannix in
the CBS television series, Mannix (1967-1975). His career spanned six
decades; in addition to his work on television, he also appeared in
numerous films. Conners died in Tarzana, California. He had been
diagnosed with leukemia.
Edward Lodewijk "Eddie" Van Halen was born in the Netherlands.
Musician, songwriter, and producer Eddie Van Halen the co-founded the rock
band Van Halen. He was joined in the band by Alex Van Halen, Wolfgang Van
Halen, David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony. He used to travel from Pasadena
to San Pedro to learn classical piano from an elderly gentleman at the request
of his mother. Eddie Van Halen is ranked #8 on Rolling Stone’s list of Top
100 Guitarists.
Mary Tyler Moore (December 29, 1936 – January 25, 2017)
(FoxNews) – Sitcom sweetheart Mary Tyler Moore, who gained fame
playing winsome television producer Mary Richards on the popular
1970s television series "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and broke
new ground as an independent career-woman in a leading role,
died today.
Although her name was most frequently associated with television
sitcoms, Moore also acted in theater and films, winning a Best Actress
Academy Award nomination for her role as an icy mother in 1980’s
"Ordinary People."
Off camera, she was known as a longtime animal rights champion and
a spokesperson for diabetes issues after being diagnosed with Type 1
diabetes, a life-threatening illness, when she was 33.
