Eric Patrick Clapton is 72 years old today.

Clapton got the nickname Slowhand because he played the guitar with such
ferocity that his strings would break and as he replaced them onstage, the
audience would slowly clap their hands.

Eric Clapton ranked second in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the "100
Greatest
Guitarists of All Time
" and fourth in Gibson’s "Top 50 Guitarists
of All Time". He was also named number five in Time magazine’s list of

Rodgers
and dramatist Oscar Hammerstein II. It is based on Margaret
Landon

derived from the memoirs of Anna Leonowens, governess to the
children of King Mongkut of Siam in the early 1860s. The musical
premiered on March 29, 1951, at Broadway‘s St. James Theatre. It
ran for nearly three years, making it the fourth longest-running
