The Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon was an annual event held
on the eve of and during the Labor Day holiday to raise money for the
Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The show was founded and
hosted by actor and comedian Jerry Lewis, who hosted the broadcast
from its 1966 inception until 2010. We recently lost Jerry on August
20. He was 91 years old.

STEELY DAN BAND MEMBER HAS DIED AT 67
Walter Carl Becker (February 20, 1950 – September 3, 2017)
According to his official website, Walter Becker, guitarist and the co-founder of the
band Steely Dan, died today. The announcement did not reveal Becker’s cause of
death.
Steely Dan was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. The group
disbanded in 1981, but came back in 1993 and has been touring since then.
