On this day in 44 BC, the assassination of Roman Emperor Julius
Caesar by many high ranking Roman Senators. The day is known
as the "Ides of March."

Cool here to say, before I became interested in “ancient” history “The Ides of March” to me meant the Chicago based rock band of the late 60’s, early 70’s! Their hit song “Vehicle” reached #2 on the Billboard chart and today still remains one of my favorites. Further commenting on the other “Ides”, if you happen to be dinning out today and you happen to order a “Caesar” salad…..I’D(es) make sure there were no sharp knives laying around on your table!
